The mission of the Sheil Catholic Center is to transform society by renewing our faith and inviting others to know Christ. At Sheil, full faith formation includes participation in the intellectual life of the Church and development of the Catholic imagination — the way Catholics look at the world and see God in it.

Sheil’s robust schedule of educational programs, lectures and discussions introduces our community to a broad range of speakers and topics of relevance to our Catholic faith.  Through these offerings, we seek to create a community of students and associates who are theologically grounded, spiritually alive, articulate in their faith and joyfully involved in the Catholic tradition.

Opportunities for education and formation at Sheil include:

  • Christ the Teacher Institute. Our newest offering allows students to integrate their academic, spiritual and personal lives by preparing them to become committed Catholic leaders for the Church and the world. Learn more >

  • Becoming Catholic (RCIA). For those exploring the possibility of becoming Catholic, this program prepares candidates to receive the Sacraments and be welcomed into the church. Learn more >

  • Bible Studies. Two Bible studies are held weekly for students and associates. Learn more >

  • Discernment Series. Unique series of programs for students who are considering their life goals, marriage, mission work and public ministry within the church. Learn more >
