Information for Non-Catholics

Welcome to the Sheil Catholic Center!

The Sheil Catholic Center is for more than just Catholics. Many of those who walk in the doors of our center are at different stages of their lives and their faith, and we welcome all who are interested in having forthright and intellectual conversations regarding religion.

Sheil offers a warm, welcoming environment for prayer and faith, as well as a dynamic community of both students and associates that relishes sharing discussion, energy and prayer with one another. We’re here to take the journey of spiritual exploration and conversation with you — no matter what your faith tradition.

Interfaith Collaborations

We collaborate with other faith groups on campus, including the Hillel Center, Chabad House and Muslim Student Association. These interfaith activities encourage openness, diversity and a broader understanding of the similarities and distinctions between religions. To schedule an interfaith event, please contact Sheil at (847) 328-4648.

Becoming Catholic

Northwestern University is a beacon to those seeking intellectual clarity — and, often, that search leads to an exploration of religious identity. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic, Sheil provides education and religious inquiry in the form of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program.

We look forward to you having you join us in whatever way you feel comfortable!
